The most common words found in childrens’ literature are referred to as sight words; they make up close to 75% of the words printed in children’s books. In school, we work on sight word learning every day through practice, games, learning centers and reading the words in context. In order to learn all of these words, your child will need your support at home as well. Every week, students will be learning about 4 to 5 sight words. The words will be posted in our monthly newsletter. Please have your child read through the sight words for a few minutes every day.
